Ernesto Roldan-Valadez, M.D., M.Sc., D.Sc., is a distinguished Mexican physician, Board-Certified Diagnostic Radiologist, and accomplished Researcher. With over 25 years of experience, Dr. Roldan-Valadez has served as a consultant in Medical Imaging and Academic Publishing for both public and private institutions in Mexico and internationally. Since 2011, he has held a professorship in the Master’s and Doctorate programs in Medical Sciences at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
Dr. Roldan-Valadez completed his medical degree at the Autonomous University of Guerrero before specializing in Diagnostic Radiology. He furthered his expertise with a fellowship in Whole-Body MRI (2007-2008) and obtained his Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Medical Sciences from UNAM (2008-2010 and 2011-2014, respectively). His professional memberships span multiple prestigious medical societies across Mexico, Europe, and the USA.
As a mentor, Dr. Roldan-Valadez is deeply committed to guiding students at all academic levels, from undergraduate to postgraduate. He is also an active coach, clinical investigator, and consultant. His prolific academic career is marked by the publication of 136 scientific articles indexed in the US National Library of Medicine, with an H-index of 19 as of September 2024. His research predominantly focuses on the diagnostic performance of quantitative imaging biomarkers (including X-ray, US, CT, MRI, and PET) in various pathologies such as Alzheimer's disease, brain tumors, and liver diseases, as well as conducting systematic reviews and meta-analyses in medical imaging.
Dr. Roldan-Valadez was inducted into the Mexican Academy of Sciences in November 2017 and joined the National Academy of Medicine of Mexico in May 2021.
